Are linens provided?
Yes, the bedrooms are furnished with nice linens, and extra blankets and pillows. Bathrooms are equipped with plenty of towels, a hair dryer, Kleenex, toilet paper, hand soap, and bath soap. The kitchen also has dish towels and dish cloths, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, napkins, and paper towels. We also provide six beach towels for use at the municipal indoor pool.
We have an iron and ironing board for your use.
How is the kitchen equipped?
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, smooth-top range, oven, refrigerator/freezer (with ice maker), and dishwasher. We also provide several small appliances, including a coffee pot, coffee grinder, toaster, can opener, blender, mixer, mini-prep, and crock pot. Table service for six is included along with pots and pans, mixing bowls, casserole dishes, measuring cups and spoons, knife block, lots of utensils, and plastic storage containers for leftovers. We also stock some basic staples in our pantry.
What should I bring?
Bring a range of clothing from light to warm. Our weather can change quickly and it's best to be prepared! Dressing in layers is a good idea any time of the year. Temperatures are much cooler at higher elevations, so bring a warm jacket. Bring a backpack and suitable footwear for hiking. You will also need to bring any food provisions for preparing your meals. (Food can also be purchased in Estes Park.) You should bring your personal toiletries, as we provide only hand soap and bath soap. Bring your ipod so you can listen to your favorite music in any room. Don't forget sunscreen (year-round)!
May I fish in your river?
Yes, but anyone over the age of 16 is required to have a Colorado fishing license. The neighborhood homeowners have stocked the river, and we ask that you "catch and release" here.
Are there any onsite amenities?
Our neighborhood does not have a pool or tennis courts. However, you may use the municipal indoor pool for a small fee. (We provide beach towels for your use there.) The high school has several tennis courts which you may use free of charge, and we provide four nice tennis racquets and balls for you to use.
Are pets allowed?
Due to allergies in our family, pets are not permitted in our home or on the premises.
Is smoking allowed?
No, smoking is not allowed anywhere on our property.
Will my cell phone work there?
Your cell phone should work here but some services work better than others in the mountains. We have a land line which you may use for local calls. Please use a calling card or credit card for long-distance calls.
Can you accommodate more than six people?
Our neighborhood HOA limits occupancy to six people, no exceptions.
Is it hard to get to your home when it snows?
Our home is very accessible, even in the winter-time. Our neighborhood is off Hwy. 36, a main highway. Our neighborhood (paved) streets are plowed by the town of Estes Park and by a contractor our HOA has hired. Our short driveway is also paved.
